Today was the Global Big Day, this is where birders from all around the world go out and see what birds they can see. We ended on 59 (6 less than last year) however, this did include two Red Kites over Cristin, a female-type Redstart at Ty Pellaf and a Little Egret in Henllywn.

Overhead passage included 58 Skylarks, two House Martins, 18 Swallows, 43 Meadow Pipits, three Grey Wagtails, 10 'Alba' Wagtails, two Buzzards, six Rooks, seven Ravens, three Chaffinches, 17 Siskins, 259 Linnets, 61 Goldfinches, five Lesser Redpolls and three Reed Buntings

Out to sea eight Common Scoters, an Arctic Skua, seven Mediterranean Gulls, six Common Gulls, 30 Black-headed Gulls, 419 Kittiwakes, 568 Razorbills, seven Guillemots along with 15 Common Dolphins and three Risso's Dolphins.

Ringing at Cristin during the morning produced a young male Sparrowhawk, a Greenfinch, 11 Goldcrests, 12 Chaffinches (including a control), a Blackcap and a Stonechat.

Other birds included a Grey Heron, a Ringed Plover, two Snipes, a Whimbrel, 35 Curlews, nine Redshanks, 43 Turnstones, two Sparrowhawks, 13 Pied Wagtails, six White Wagtails, 17 Robins, five Blackcaps, five Chiffchaffs, two Willow Warblers, 28 Goldcrests, 20 Chaffinches and three Greenfinches
