The usual cleaning took place in the Lodge this morning, however, with Ollie having now left for pastures new and Ed still being away on holiday, it was down to Emma and myself and out young volunteer Andrew to do a very early clean and tidy, ready for the arrival of the guests at 10.15.

It had been a pretty full week so the Lodge took quite a bit of cleaning, but we managed to get it all done. I think Andrew will have a new found respect for the staff next time he comes with his family as a guest, knowing what is involved in getting the Lodge ready in such a short space of time.

After the introduction talk, I sent some time seawtaching from the Obs. Manxies were pouring through in droves, many large feeding flocks were offshore and thousands were passing and by dark 14,250 were seen.

Manx Shearwater

A Blackcap was heard calling at Cristin and six Willow Warblers were seen.
