Heavy rain during the morning made for a delayed start to the day however, a Spotted Flycatcher and a few Willow Warblers through the kitchen window suggested some birds had arrived. The rain eased mid-morning and a Sedge Warbler was immediately caught in the Heligoland trap. The garden was alive with birds with 80+ Willow Warblers, two Chiffchaffs, four Whitethroats, three Blackcaps and nine Spotted Flycatchers. Of these a Spotted Flycatcher, two Whitethroats and 15 Willow Warblers were trapped in the Heligoland trap.

A further 10 Spotted Flycatchers, 47 Wheatears and 92 Willow Warblers were seen around the Island.
