A glorious sunny day brought with it a few noteworthy birds. A Little Egret flew over the South End early in the morning and a short time later a Lapland Bunting was found nearby. A couple of Whinchats were in the lowlands and a Blackcap was at Nant, while diurnal passage included three Grey Wagtails, two Tree Pipits, three Sand Martins, two House Martins and over 100 Swallows. A mixed wader flock comprising five Ringed Plovers, four Dunlins and two Snipe circled over the South End and the Little Egret was joined in the afternoon by two others that were flying over the Narrows.
