Sunday 7 August 2011

Another quiet day saw very few birds of any consequence around, although the first Great Skua of the year passed by the north end of the island in the morning. A Common Tern also flew by, with totals of commoner species amounting to: nine Fulmars, 870 Manx Shearwaters, 75 Gannets, two Dunlins, two ‘Commic’ Terns, 12 Kittiwakes and two Razorbills. Two Common Sandpipers were seen in Henllwyn, a juvenile Redstart was seen at Nant, where three Spotted Flycatchers also were; only 20 Willow Warblers were around today.
