A Melodious Warbler found in the plantation at 11:20 this morning was by far the best bird of the day. After eluding all observers for six hours, it was re-found in Ty Capel garden at 5:00 pm, and showed briefly before disappearing into the foliage once again.
On the rest of the bird front, there was very little around. Two Great Skuas passed by the north end of the island in the morning; 22 Fulmars, 2650 Manx Shearwaters and 109 Gannets, four Razorbills and a Puffin also flew past. A Blackcap was seen at Nant, three Spotted Flycatchers were dotted around, a Redstart was seen by Carreg Bach and a sparse scattering of Willow Warblers amounted to 24 individuals. A Purple Sandpiper was on the rocks by Solfach at high tide, where 14 Turnstones, a Ringed Plover, 11 Redshanks were also; four Whimbrels and 18 Curlews were seen elsewhere.
