Yet another glorious day saw a couple of noteworthy species on the island, namely a stunning summer-plumaged Grey Plover in Solfach, and the first Turtle Dove of the year in the North-West Fields.
A slightly larger number of Spotted Flycatchers amounted to 16, although other common migrants were very thin on the ground. A total of 18 Swifts were seen hawking around the mountain in the late afternoon.

The first Turtle Dove of the year finally turned up today, presiding in the North-West Fields for the majority of the day
This rather stunning Grey Plover is the first for several months, and the first summer-plumaged bird on the island since 2008
