The calm winds and largely clear skies during the nigh encouraged a large clear out of migrants, with one Grasshopper Warbler, 12 Sedge Warblers, 10 Whitethroats, six Blackcaps, 12 Chiffchaffs and six Willow Warblers left on the warbler-front.There was a good scattering of waders around The Narrows and the South End: eight Ringed Plover, one Golden Plover, four Purple Sandpipers, four Dunlins, 38 Whimbrels and a Common Sandpiper. The first three Swifts of the year bombed southward along the west side mid-afternoon, and a small amount of hirundine passage comprised 24 Sand Martins, 90 Swallows and six House Martins.
