A breezy day made for hard work but singles of Greenfinch and
Fieldfare were new in at Cristin early morning before roaming the island. An
excellent count of 333 Meadow Pipits was proof that migrants were coming
through regardless of the wind, further cemented by the three Grey Wagtails, 15
Pied Wagtails, five Song Thrushes, 13 Redwings, 36 Goldcrests, 21 Choughs, and 135
Starlings also recorded. Once again the Merlin was seen on The Narrows along
with a high count of 137 Oystercatchers, one Dunlin, one Whimbrel, and 12 Turnstones, with one Jack Snipe and eight Snipes also in the damp grassland nearby.
