A dull and overcast start to the day, with the cloud arriving overnight no doubt helping to ground a few migrants onto the island. A (possibly new) Black Redstart was flitting around in Traeth Ffennon in the morning, probably the third bird this week. The biggest surprises of the day go to two Woodcocks, both of which found in rather peculiar circumstances. The first was flushed from the beach at Solfach with the other dropping from the sky as a Buzzard flew overhead! Wheatears put in an appearance at The Narrows and the North End, hopefully just the start of things to come, whilst the two Firecrests of late both showed at Cristin and Nant.

One of two Common Buzzards lingering on the island
Meadow Pipits picked up again with 186 logged and a mini-fall of thrushes consisted of 20 Blackbirds, three Fieldfares, and 92 Redwings. The regular two Buzzards and Merlin were present as were two Snipes, two Chiffchaffs, 12 Goldcrests, 35 Starlings, one Greenfinch, 171 Linnets, and 12 Common Scoters passed by at sea.
