Yesterday's Black Redstart was present again in Traeth Ffennon and showing nicely, even singing at times. Sea-watching over calm mirror-like seas was productive with 54 Common Scoters a rather high spring count, also noting a Red-throated Diver, two Teals, four Black-headed Gulls, and one Common Gull. A total 141 Oystercatchers mostly roosting on The Narrows is the highest number recorded this year. As the spring progresses we will see the groups on The Narrows splinter as pairs take up residence at breeding sites around the coastline. A single Woodcock was flushed from Cristin in the morning while one Collared Dove, one Skylark, one Wheatear, eight Redwings, three Chiffchaffs, 15 Goldcrests, two Firecrests, one Greenfinch, and one Siskin were to be found.
