A little more movement was noted out to sea today, after a shift in the weather from misty to just overcast. Still winds were undecided between Southerly or Westerly and seemed to battle each other throughout the day. In total 10 Fulmars, 95 Manx Shearwaters, 71 Gannets, one Arctic Skua, one Great Skua, 44 Kittiwakes and 10 Sandwich Terns were logged. The weeks high of six Kestrels was hit, all of which were hunting on the Mountainside. And a reasonable count of 40 Curlews was logged along with 20 Turnstones. Inland totals were low again with eight Stonechats, one Blackcap, eight Chiffchaffs, three Willow Warblers, five Goldcrests and a Spotted Flycatcher logged.
One of the many Kestrels on the island at the moment, presumably and hopefully a result of a productive breeding season for this species
