Winds continued to materialize from the West, but picked up in speed which resulted in some impressive seabird totals today. Those that kept an eye on the sea were rewarded with 32 Fulmars, 342

Great Skua, 249

Sandwich Terns and two
Black Terns. On land the westerly winds also fared well producing a flurry of waders including two
Ringed Plovers, three
Purple Sandpipers, 61

Redshanks, one
Green Sandpiper and 29
Turnstones.
Inland, a few migrants passed through evidently unsettled by the stronger winds today, the
Great Spotted Woodpecker was once again present. Overhead passage saw 58
Swallows, three
‘Flava’ Wagtails and six
Grey Wagtails pass through, whilst on the land one
Whinchat, three
Chiffchaffs, three
Willow Warblers, two
Goldcrests, 37
Linnets and two
Lesser Redpolls were the highlights.
