It was another overcast day with a light wind. The nets were opened in the Obs and a total of 20 new Willow Warblers and a Reed Warbler were ringed. The Kestrel and Buzzard that were present yesterday evening were still mobile across the island.

In the afternoon the Manx Shearwater chicks in the North West Field productivity burrows were ringed. These will be given a final check in September to see if they have fledged.

Birds today: one Fulmar, two Gannets, one Grey Heron, one Buzzard, one Kestrel, four Whimbrels, 22 Curlews, three Redshanks, 15 Turnstones, one Black-headed Gull, 12 Collared Doves, one Reed Warbler, one Whitethroat, 31 Willow Warblers
