A sea breeze was welcome today which kept the temperatures down to a lowly 26 degrees. There was a drop in waders with three Common Sandpipers, two Curlews, two Redshanks and a Ringed Plover noted. A Sedge Warbler was at Nant but presumably a local bird. A trip around the East Side was probably one of the last of the season, given that many birds have now fledged and the colonies are starting to look empty! Still, some Kittiwake and gull chicks, a couple of adult Razorbills and the first Fulmar chick of the season were ringed.

An Emperor Dragonfly was cruising over the Wetlands, whilst a few second-generation Common Blues are now starting to appear around the island.
