A lovely two days saw the continuation of the glorious
weather, and also saw the arrival of a few birds, albeit common ones. On the 16th,
two Fieldfares
and a Skylark were seen on the west side, and the Firecrest
was present at Nant. A pair of Pied Wagtails arrived to join the lone
male which has been present all winter, a Merlin flew over the Narrows
and a pair of Ringed Plovers was seen in Solfach. The 17th
was a little quieter: ten Common Scoters flew past the North end
in the morning, two Goldcrests had arrived into Cristin
garden, and a flock of over 40 Meadow Pipits was the year’s highest
total yet.

Plenty of Fulmars are prospecting for nest sites on the east side at the moment
