12th to 13th March

It was another two quiet days, with the wind firmly set in the North and temperatures barely above freezing. Two Wheatears remained around Solfach on the 12th, whilst 13 Song Thrushes, eight Skylarks, 58 Meadow Pipits and two Chiffchaffs were present around the lowlands and in the gardens. Slightly calmer weather on the 13th saw the arrival of five Chiffchaffs, which were feeding at Nant with the Firecrest; a single Wheatear remained around the Narrows and a Teal was flushed from the withies. Three Rooks and two Jackdaws seen on the Narrows and at Ty Pellaf respectively were both additions to the year list.

The male Firecrest continues to feed all over the Nant area, and sings in accompaniment with the Goldcrests
 Skylark
 Robin
Both Jackdaw (above) and Rook were added to the year list on the 13th
