A slow day for migrants today. Instead much of the afternoon was spent monitoring the breeding seabirds on the East Side, probably for one of the last times this season, with most auks having fledged already or on the verge of fledging. For some species however, such as the Fulmar or Kittiwakes we are still in the early days chicks, especially with the former hatching their first young in recent days.

Out to sea today a total of 3091 Manx Shearwaters were recorded. Inland a Kestrel was logged as were a good selection of early waders, including three Lapwing, a Dunlin, five Whimbrels, seven Curlews, one Redshank and eight Common Sandpiper. Overhead two Swifts and a Sand Martin were noted, along with the usual resident hirundines 11 Swallows and six House Martins.
