Any day would struggle to stand up to some of the totals of yesterday, and unfortunately today was no exception, whilst migrants were clearly down on yesterday a small but diverse selection was present. Out at sea some seawatching saw three Common Scoters, two Arctic Skuas, one Great Skua, 390 Kittiwakess, one Sandwich Tern and 388 Razorbills. Kestrel numbers had conversely to most other species increased with four scattered across the island.

One Water Rail was heard again today, and waders summated to two Ringed Plovers, three Golden Plovers, 16 Purple Sandpipers, three Dunlins, one Snipe, one Bar-tailed Godwit, three Whimbrels, 45 Curlews, eight Redshanks and 26 Turnstones. A small amount was noted on the land as well, 86 Meadow Pipits were logged overhead along with two Grey Wagtails, five Siskins and one Lesser Redpoll. In the bushes 23 Robins, one Blackcap, 14 Chiffchaffs and 12 Goldcrests were seen.

A Buzzard making a close pass by as it scans the Mountain for any potential prey

The Bar-tailed Godwit present on the Narrows, feeding on the vast expanses of seaweed brought up onto the shores recently by the high tides
