The wind was again from the Southeast and the sun was out for most of the day. The morning was spent ringing with Stuart opening the nets at Cristin and Sam at the Withies. The highlights of this mornings ringing was a Whitethroat and 11 Lesser Redpolls at Cristin and a female Bullfinch in the Withies.

Whitethroat

Whilst at the Withies, Sam heard a reeling Grasshopper Warbler in the Wetlands. The passage of Sand Martins also increased today with 19 heading over throughout the day. 13 Swallows were also seen.

The afternoon was spent checking on nests. The Ravens at Barcut have grown considerably in the last week and a pair of Stonechats were busy feeding young in the gorse above Tŷ Pellaf. Further breeding bird checks will happen throughout the week with a trip to the East Side planned to survey seabirds.

Steve and Emma went for a late afternoon walk northward and had a good passage of Sand Martins, and about 140 Linnets, along with a few smart Greenland Wheatears
