There was an easterly wind blowing all day today. Stuart decided not to open the nets in the Withies, however Louis (being supervised by Steve) spent the whole day ringing at the Obs and was rewarded with a few migrants as well as a male Sparrowhawk.

Moth mornings are still going strong and are picking up with autumn species. A trap opposite Plas had the first Anomalous of the year as well as a Tawny-speckled Pug. Another trap at Traeth Ffynnon had the migrant moth Udea ferrugalis as well as 83 Flounced Rustics!

There continues to be a few migrants passing through with a Greenshank on Solfach, two Whinchats, three Sand Martins and two Yellow Wagtails flying over. The best bird was a winter plumage Black Guillemot which was seen flying South off the South End.
