The day dawned quite breezy, to strong for a boat, but the weather was due to settle.

Census of the South End produced a Knot on Solfach, and a stunning male Hen Harrier was seen heading north over the Mountain. The Cattle Egret was around the schoolhouse again.

The lawn mower had become clogged over winter - some fuel in the Carburetta bowl had gone bad and clogged the jets - so a quick strip down of the carb, clean and rebuild and we were away!

Mid-afternoon saw the arrival of the two new staff members, Ed Betteridge and Ollie King, along with two volunteers Lynda and Mike.

More cleaning of the staff bedrooms was in order while Lynda and Mike set about the dining and cooking areas.
