Yesterday's fog persisted into the morning but cleared fairly early on. A change in the winds led to a fall in thrushes overnight, as 173 Redwings, 13 Fieldfares, 20 Blackbirds and a Song Thrush were seen today. Other migrants included two Sand Martins that were hawking for insects over Pwll Cain, nine Wheatears, and a Firecrest at Nant. There were also 33 Purple Sandpipers on the Narrows and a 2CY Common Gull along the West Coast. A beast of female Sparrowhawk saved a very quiet ringing session at Cristin!

Other highlights included seven Blackcaps, five Chiffchaffs, five Goldcrests, and a Willow Warbler

The moth trap produced the goods last night! A single Shoulder Stripe was the first record for the Island, and a Chamomile Shark was the third record, with only two other records from May 2010.

Again no sign of 'Margaret' on the Island today...will she reappear? We will find out tomorrow!
