A seawatch of the West Side in a moderate south-westerly produced a Great Northern Diver, a Manx Shearwater, 50 Common Scoters, an Arctic Skua, 105 Mediterranean Gulls, a Little Gull, 417 Black-headed Gulls, three Common Gulls, 482 Kittiwakes, six Guillemots, 1004 Razorbills and two Curlew Sandpipers (first of the year).

The highlight of the day was a Richard's Pipit seen on the South End. The bird landed briefly with Meadow Pipits before flying south u-turning and heading off north. Other passerine highlights of the day were 17 Skylarks, five Swallows, 220 Meadow Pipits, three Grey Wagtails, four Pied Wagtails, 24 'Alba' Wagtails, 38 Starlings, three Chaffinches, 58 Goldfinches, 77 Siskins, 64 Linnets and three Lesser Redpolls.

Other birds seen today included a Grey Heron, 23 Mallards, two Merlins, a Water Rail, two Snipe, a Whimbrel, 49 Curlews, 17 Redshanks, 21 Robins, five Song Thrushes, a Blackcap, three Chiffchaffs and 11 Goldcrests.
