Today saw the students be split into for a friendly bird race. Both teams worked hard and after a long days birding it was incredibly a draw on 65 species each. However, the total overall was an impressive 70! 

A good arrival saw a total of six Pied Flycatchers, five Ring Ouzels, two Redstarts, 164 Wheatears, 87 Blackcaps, 20 Chiffchaffs, 58 Willow Warblers, a Sedge Warbler a Grasshopper Warbler and Whitethroat recorded across the Island. A Black Redstart was on the Lighthouse with three Red-throated Divers, a Greylag Goose, a Merlin, 13 Whimbrels, three Common Sandpipers, a Tree Pipit and a Starling also of note.

The evening was again spent Manx Shearwater ringing with the Students. Also caught was a retrap Jack Snipe, an Oystercatcher and two Wheatears

Other birds seen today included a Buzzard, 15 Purple Sandpipers, two Redshanks, two Dunlins, five Snipe, three Common Gulls, two Sandwich Terns, seven Collared Doves, seven Sand Martins, 28 Swallows, six House Martins, 10 White Wagtails, four Siskins and two Lesser Redpolls.
