The winds blew strongly from the south-east today, and were accompanied by sporadic bouts of rain. When the sea was visible, there were plenty of Manx Shearwaters moving south off the West Coast, with 4000 individuals seen in a timed count in the afternoon. It was quiet otherwise out there with 30 Gannets, a Fulmar, 10 Guillemots, two Razorbills and four Puffins logged.

Most of the day was spent writing up the Breeding Bird maps, detailing the number and locations of pairs for different species, as well as the contents of any nests found (to calculate average clutch sizes). So far, all gull species that breed on the Island have increased in the number of breeding pairs!
