Today was the quietest day for a while in terms of migration. The weather started with low cloud but soon cleared up producing blue skies and sun but the northerly wind still gave a chill to the air.

The best of the day were two Hooded Crows seen heading north at midday. Other counts included a Grey Heron on Pwll Cain still, seven Sedge Warblers, and 32 Willow Warblers

The seabirds are starting to get going now on the east side of the mountain, the gulls are on eggs, the Guilimots and Razorbills have also layed eggs, as have the Shags. Monitoring the progress of these sea birds along with taking note of the Chough pairs, where they are nesting and who is paired with who, will become increasingly part of our work as the season progresses.
